To Our Community

After over 30 years in business, ColourTime has developed relationships with many charitable and self-help organizations. Sometimes it is through the involvement of our staff, often due to the interests of individuals within our corporate customer base or simply when an orgaization presents itself to us in need of our printed products.

In recent years, we have been pleased to support the Arthritis Society of Canada, B.C. & Yukon division with both cash donations and the production of newsletters and brochures at a reduced rate.

Essential to the use of many printed products is the ability to read. We have been a proud supporter of Literacy BC through donations and “hole-sponsorships” at their annual Peter Gzowski Invitional Golf Tournament held every year at the University Golf Club.

Not far from our flagship location in downtown Vancouver is the Downtown Eastside, notorious for its social problems but also home to a significant number of children. CLICK (Contributing to Lives of Inner City Kids) is an organization that helps inner city youth and has been working in the Downtown Eastside area. We were pleased to produce event posters and cards for them last year free of charge and hope to continue this year.

Another anchor of stability in the Downtown Eastside is the Army & Navy Department Store. Its principals have formed the Face the World Foundation which aims to raise money from the wealthy and distribute it to the many charities and organizations attempting to turn around individual lives in the community. We have been producing many of their fundraising materials free of charge since 2005.

Numerous organizations such as AIDS Vancouver, the BC & Yukon Society of Transition Houses, and the BC Association of Specialized Victim Assistance and Counselling Programs are all long-time clients of ColourTime. We are only too happy to produce their newsletters, brochures, books and stationery at a much-reduced cost.

In sporting circles, Vancouver is known as a “hockey town.” In addition to our NHL team, the Canucks, Vancouver is home to the Vancouver Giants junior hockey team. The Giants have been building their base in the community since 2001 and ColourTime has been a sponsor and their print-provider since 2003. The Giants, with their teenage roster, appeals to dedicated hockey fans who see the game as a way of contributing to healthy lifestyles for Canadian youth and providing skills to make them positive contributors to their communities as adults.

This melding of sports, business and philanthropy extends from work we have done over the years with the BC Lions Football Club of the CFL down to high school basketball tournaments through our association with HSBC Investments Canada.

These are some of the ways that ColourTime gives back to the community that has helped make us such a successful business over these past 30 years. That's one of the best things about being an independent business— our customers not only benefit from the high quality products and professional service we provide, but they can also rest assured that a portion of that same money they spent goes back into the community.
